(Metairie, La.) - Today, U.S. Sen. David Vitter (R-La.), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship (SBC), announced Hook & Boil of Broussard, La. as Small Business of the Week, and will be submitting it into the official Congressional Record.

“In the recent disastrous flood event in South Louisiana, many small businesses have played a significant role in helping their neighbors during the ongoing recovery process, epitomizing Louisianians' shared commitment to community and service," said Vitter. “In Broussard, La., Hook & Boil owner Mark Alleman and his team have delivered more than 2,000 meals to flood-impacted neighborhoods throughout the community, and I commend them for their selfless actions in the midst of such widespread devastation."

Since 2014, Mark Alleman and his team have provided the ultimate Cajun cuisine for folks in Acadiana. ‎Despite waters rising to over an inch in his own home, Alleman and his Hook & Boil team served meals to those in need with the help of a few locals with high-rise vehicles.

As SBC Chairman, Vitter continues the tradition of honoring America’s small business and entrepreneurs.
