Today, U.S. Sen. David Vitter (R-La.), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship (SBC), announced Lamulle Construction, LLC of Slidell, La. as Small Business of the Week, and will be submitting it into the official Congressional Record.

“South Louisiana is blessed with an abundance of natural resources, and an important part of the local economy is location-specific small businesses, including maritime construction,” said Vitter. “With so many swamps and marshes, the Lamulle family created a successful small business niche, building decks, docks, piers, and more for families and communities across south Louisiana for over six decades. Congratulations to Lamulle Construction for being selected as Small Business of the Week, and I look forward to your continued growth and success.”

In 1947 after a hurricane destroyed his home and devastated much of the Southeast Louisiana region, World War II veteran E.J. Lamulle founded Lamulle Construction in Slidell, La. Having honed the skill of pile-driving while building docks for allied ships in the Pacific during WWII, Lamulle put his skills to work in rebuilding his community after disaster. Three generations later, Lamulle Construction today remains a family-owned business, employing 25 crew members and eight administrators, and offering construction and consulting services in building docks, boat houses, retaining walls, piers, and elevated foundations.

As SBC Chairman, Vitter continues the tradition of honoring America’s small businesses and entrepreneurs.
