Today, U.S. Senator David Vitter (R-La.), Chairman of the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee, recognized The Idea Village of New Orleans, La. for its contributions to New Orleans entrepreneurs, job growth, and the economy, and has submitted it to the Congressional Record.

“New Orleans is in the midst of a technology and innovation breakthrough, quickly becoming a hub of economic growth in the South, and much of that success can be attributed to the efforts of The Idea Village. Its pro-business initiatives and partnerships with the local community have helped thousands of entrepreneurs take the leap into small business ownership and achieve success,” said Vitter. “I would like to recognize the entire team at Idea Village and look forward to their continued leadership and success in supporting New Orleans entrepreneurs and our economy.”

The Idea Village is an independent nonprofit organization that is dedicated to driving economic growth in and around New Orleans through identifying, supporting, and retaining local entrepreneurs. Founded in 2002, The Idea Village has launched over 25 initiatives to provide strategic guidance and resources to access capital to local business owners, including the successful annual New Orleans Entrepreneur Week. Since its inception, The Idea Village has provided direct support to more than 5,794 entrepreneurs and invested $25 million in New Orleans businesses.

As Chairman of the Senate Small Business Committee, Vitter has been advocating for American small business owners in Washington.
