U.S. Sen. David Vitter (R-La.), Chairman of the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Committee, announced Marucci Sports of Baton Rouge, La. to be Small Business of the Week, and has submitted Marucci Sports into the official Congressional record.

“Marucci Sports initially began as a father helping his son prepare for Little League games, and has since grown to be one of Louisiana’s top cutting-edge companies for quality baseball and softball products, providing baseball gear to youths learning the game for the first time, as well as over one-third of the Major League Baseball’s players,” said Vitter. “It is innovative businesses like Marucci Sports that make our country great, and I commend Marucci Sports for being Small Business of the Week.”

In 2002, Jack Marucci hand-crafted a wood bat in his garage for his son when they could not find an appropriate one to use in Little League. Years later, Marucci Sports now produces quality and specialized baseball and softball products for Louisiana and the rest of the country.

As Chairman of the Small Business Committee, Vitter is continuing the tradition of honoring local small businesses each week.
