U.S. Sen. David Vitter (R-La.), Chairman of the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Committee, today announced Delta Fuel of Ferriday, La. to be ‎Small Business of the Week and submitted it into the official Congressional Record.

“Louisiana has a wealth of natural resources, providing thousands of jobs and supporting entire industries. Part of the Louisiana energy industry is Delta Fuel, a small business known for its dependability, reliability, and exceptional service standards, which has made it one of the fastest-growing distributors in the Southeast,” said Vitter. “By using valuable business resources at hand, including the Small Business Administration’s Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) program, Delta Fuel has been able to expand, create new jobs, and build additional service centers. Congratulations to Delta Fuel for its ongoing success and economic contributions to Louisiana.”

In 1977 Delta Fuel, a small bulk distributor serving ranchers and farmers, was founded in the heart of the Louisiana and Mississippi Delta. Today, Delta Fuel serves a cross-section of the agriculture, construction, aviation, marine, government, manufacturing, automotive, emergency response, and trucking industries with a variety of fuels, lubes, tanks, trailers, oil stations, and lube equipment. Delta Fuel has been recognized as one of the most successful Hispanic-owned business in the United States.

As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Vitter is continuing the tradition of honoring local small businesses.
