U.S. Sen. David Vitter (R-La.), Chairman of the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Committee, today announced ReactWell of New Orleans, La. to be the Small Business of the Week, and submitted it into the official Congressional Record.

“Every business starts out with an entrepreneur willing to put in the hard work and take risks in order to turn an idea into reality,” said Vitter. “ReactWell is on the forefront of developing cutting edge technological advancements with the potential to revolutionize the energy, chemical, and petrochemical industries. Congratulations to Brandon Iglesias and ReactWell for being selected as a Small Business of the Week.”

Baton Rouge native, Brandon Iglesias started his company, ReactWell, for the purpose of chemically manufacturing cleaner oil after years of hands-on research in the oil field and witnessing the devastation of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010. Using innovative technology, ReactWell creates synthetic oil by placing a combination of chemicals and algae into an underground reactor system that fuses the substances to create a new, cleaner synthetic crude oil. Iglesias’ system is currently being implemented in Louisiana.

As chairman of the Small Business Committee, Vitter is continuing the tradition of honoring local small businesses each week.
