Today, U.S. Sen. David Vitter (R-La.), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship (SBC), announced Annie Miller's Son's Swamp and Marsh Tours of Houma, La. as Small Business of the Week, and will be submitting it into the official Congressional Record.

“Known as the ‘Sportsman’s Paradise,’ Louisiana is blessed with an abundance of natural resources, and millions of folks come from across the country and the world to see our unique ecosystems in person each and every year,” said Vitter. “Over the last 37 years, the Miller family led in spirit by their matriarch ‘Alligator Annie’ have built a successful marsh and swamp tour outfit in Houma, sharing our rich natural wonders and cultural heritage with folks from across the country and around the world. Congratulations again to Annie Miller's Son's Swamp and Marsh Tours for being selected as this week’s Small Business of the Week, and I look forward to your continued growth and success.”

In 1979, Annie and Eddie Miller founded Annie Miller’s Swamp Tours in Houma, La., which became Louisiana’s very first swamp-boat company. Today ran by Annie’s two sons Jerry and Jimmy, the landmark operation offers excursions into Louisiana’s unique canals, waterways, marshes, and wetlands, offering individuals the opportunity to experience the State’s diverse wildlife including alligators and various species of birds and other aquatic wildlife in the region. Proud Cajun naturalists, the Annie Miller team continues their namesake’s environmental efforts in educating patrons on the importance of understanding and combatting devastating erosion on the State’s vulnerable wetlands and in protecting and preserving them for generations of Louisianians and tourists to enjoy.

As SBC Chairman, Vitter continues the tradition of honoring America’s small businesses and entrepreneurs.
