Today, U.S. Senator David Vitter (R-La.), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship (SBC), announced JESCO of Jennings, La. as Small Business of the Week, and will be submitting it into the official Congressional Record.

“Folks in Louisiana have learned to be quick and efficient when recovering from a natural disaster, and Small Business of the Week – JESCO – has focused its efforts over the last twenty years to better prepare Louisiana communities before a natural disaster and also help with rebuilding efforts in the aftermath of a storm,” said Vitter. “JESCO’s efforts have helped Louisiana families and communities rebuild and manage clean-up operations after Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and others. Congratulations to JESCO and their team for being selected as Small Business of the Week. Thank you for your efforts to deliver effective disaster response and recovery efforts for the folks of Louisiana and across the Gulf Coast.”

Established in 1994, JESCO is a certified woman-owned Louisiana small business and provides disaster response services for Louisiana communities in the aftermath of natural disasters. JESCO also provides engineering, environmental, and construction services to municipal, state, and federal agencies in the Gulf Coast.

May 15 through 21, 2016 is National Hurricane Preparedness Week, and Vitter has been encouraging folks to create a plan for their family, buy proper supplies ahead of time, locate a safe room or the safest areas in their homes for each hurricane hazard, and take a First Aid, CPR, or disaster preparedness class if they are able. Hurricane season begins June 1. Click here to read more.

As SBC Chairman, Vitter continues the tradition of honoring America’s small businesses and entrepreneurs.
