On Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 10:00am EDT, the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship (SBC) will hold a hearing entitled, “America Without Entrepreneurs: The Consequences of Dwindling Startup Activity.”
Small businesses have long been recognized as the backbone of our nation’s economic prosperity, representing half of the private-sector economy and 99 percent of all businesses. During Wednesday’s hearing, Committee Members will examine the recent trends in entrepreneurship and hear testimony from witnesses with insight into why startup activity has declined, particularly among millennials, and methods to support and inspire more Americans to start their own small businesses.
Invited witnesses to the hearing include:
- Mr. Dane Stangler, Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation
- Mr. John Lettieri, Economic Innovation Group
- Ms. Donna Harris, 1776
The hearing and business meeting will be livestreamed here.
