Today, U.S. Senator David Vitter (R-La.), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, issued the following statement regarding today’s Supreme Court ruling on Kingdomware Technologies Inc. v. United States, in which the nation’s highest court confirmed that the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is mandatorily obligated to fulfill its annual goals for contracting with service-disabled and other veteran-owned small businesses.

“Today’s Supreme Court ruling is a huge win for veteran entrepreneurs competing for federal contracts, effectively ending the VA’s penchant to put bureaucracy ahead of the priorities of veteran-owned small businesses,” said Vitter. “The Obama Administration will finally be held accountable in their legal obligation to help veterans win the contracts they deserve, and I will certainly monitor this issue in the coming months to ensure our nation’s veterans are treated fairly and with respect.”

Chairman Vitter will hold a full Committee hearing on Thursday, June 23, 2016 to further examine the Supreme Court ruling on Kingdomware Technologies Inc. v. United States.
