RUBIO APPLAUDS SBA OFFICE OF ADVOCACY’S SMALL BUSINESS ROUNDTABLE ON THE REGULATION OF PREMIUM CIGARS
Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, today applauded the SBA Office of Advocacy for holding a roundtable on the overregulation of small businesses in the premium cigar industry.
“Small, family-owned businesses are the cornerstone of the premium cigar industry in Florida,” Rubio said. “Excessive regulation by the FDA is detrimental to the vitality and growth of small businesses in the historic cigar industry. I am pleased to see the SBA Office of Advocacy give small businesses a voice in the regulatory process and shed light on FDA’s burdensome effects on this iconic industry.”
