Washington, D.C. U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, named Lucky Goat Coffee Company of Tallahassee, Florida as the U.S. Senate Small Business of the Week.

Rubio released the following video message to congratulate Lucky Goat Coffee Company as the Senate Small Business of the Week. A broadcast quality version can be found here.

“Hello, I’m Senator Marco Rubio, I’m the Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship.

“And today, it is my honor to recognize Lucky Goat Coffee Company of Tallahassee, Florida as the Senate Small Business of the Week

“Back in 2010, Ben Pautsch founded Lucky Goat Coffee, as a wholesale and distribution company.

“Customer demand led to their expansion into retail and the opening of Lucky Goat Coffee shops.

“Well, a decade later, Lucky Goat Coffee Company now includes its original distribution business, 5 coffee shops in Tallahassee, and its first franchise location in Jacksonville.

“Notably, Lucky Goat Coffee was named one of the fastest growing companies owned by Florida State University alumni in 2018, 2019, and 2020, and in 2017, was recognized by former Governor —now my colleague— Senator Rick Scott.

“Like many Florida small businesses, Lucky Goat Coffee experienced a drop in revenue and closed its stores due to the pandemic and the coronavirus crisis.

“But they were approved for a Paycheck Protection Program loan, a small business relief program that I was proud to be the author of.

“And as a result, they were able to keep 57 employees paid.

“So congratulations to the entire team at Lucky Goat Coffee Company for being named the Senate Small Business of the Week!

“And I look forward to seeing your continued success in Tallahassee, and throughout Florida.”
