The US Senate’s Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship has sent an open letter to the Small Business Administration (SBA) demanding to know what action it has taken to help small businesses implement energy efficiency measures.
Under the auspices of the 2007 Energy Independence and Security Act, specific legislation was introduced covering energy efficiency in small businesses. The SBA was tasked with implementing a number of programmes to help small businesses make energy savings.
Eight months on and, in response to rapidly rising energy costs, the Senate committee chaired by John F. Kerry has asked for an update on the SBA’s activities.
