A workshop geared to help small businesses win contracts will be held at Southern University on March 23 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Smith-Brown Memorial Student Union Cotillion Ballroom.

The “Connecting Businesses with Contracts Procurement Conference” is sponsored by Southern’s Ag Center; U.S. Department of Agriculture; the Louisiana Procurement and Technical Assistance Center; and the Louisiana Small Business Development Center Consortium. It is designed to make sure small businesses have the information to take advantage of resources and seek and win federal contracts.

Participants include The Shaw Group; Entergy Corp.; DynMcDermott; Aerojet Camden Operations; Textron Marine and Land; Chevron; Army Corps of Engineers-New Orleans District; FEMA; USDA NRCS; Chalmette Levee Constructors; Department of the Navy; Veterans Administration; Louisiana State Office of Purchasing; Louisiana Department of Economic Development; Picerne Military Housing; Venture Walk, and others.
