Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-ID), chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, has named Sundance Consulting Inc. in Pocatello, Idaho as the Small Business of the Month for May 2018. Sundance Consulting will be recognized in the Congressional Record of the U.S. Senate.

“September Myres, founder of Sundance Consulting, has grown the company from a sole proprietorship to a firm of more than fifty employees with eight satellite offices around the country,” said Chairman Risch. “From 2011 to 2016, Sundance increased their revenue by $10 million, and as a true testament to September’s character, she used the company’s growing profits to give back to the community. Every year, Sundance provides school supplies and backpacks to children in need, through a charity drive in Chubbuck, Idaho. Additionally, they provide scholarships to Native American students going in to the science, technology, engineering, or mathematics fields. I’m proud to recognize September’s leadership in the Pocatello community by awarding Sundance Consulting as Small Business of the Month.”

After nineteen years of working for the Native American Lands Environmental Mitigation Program as a consultant, September Myres founded Sundance Consulting Inc. in 2005. She founded Sundance with a vision to provide solutions to the environmental challenges faced by Native Americans and Native Alaskans alike. Among the solutions that September provides are general consulting services, environmental site assessments, site investigations, radioactive waste retrieval, process optimization, and soil and water sampling, all of which help clients understand the environment they are working in and ways to mitigate any potentially harmful activities. From its original focus on tribal clients to today’s diverse portfolio of federal, state, and commercial clients, Sundance prides itself on delivering quality advice and planning services on-time and under budget, while protecting the environment. Over its thirteen years in business Sundance has earned a reputation of excellence in their field by bringing diverse organizations together to create environmental solutions.

The Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship oversees proposed legislation on matters relating to entrepreneurship and provides oversight of the Small Business Administration. The committee also researches, investigates and reports all problems relating to America’s small businesses to the full Senate. As Chairman, Risch will honor America’s small businesses and entrepreneurs in the Senate each month.
