U.S. Sen. David Vitter (R-La.), Chairman of the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Committee, announced Central Plumbing Co. of Baton Rouge, La. to be Small Business of the Week, and submitted it into the official Congressional Record.

“In addition to the Payne family’s forty-one years of service, Central Plumbing Co. has built an important and inspiring apprenticeship program to train the next generation of Louisiana’s Master Plumbers,” said Vitter. “Training programs like the one Central Plumbing Co. offers are wonderful opportunities for folks to become experts in a highly specialized field and get paid accordingly. I commend the Payne family for their decades of service and ongoing commitment to create good quality, high-paying jobs in Louisiana.”

In 1974 the Payne family opened Central Plumbing Co. with one truck in the Baton Rouge area. These days, Central Plumbing has forty employees and operates twenty trucks across the Southern Louisiana region. Central Plumbing also offers an apprenticeship program with paid, hands-on training and support.

As Chairman of the Small Business Committee, Vitter is continuing the tradition of honoring local small businesses each week.
