Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-ID), chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, released the following statement regarding the Senate confirmation of Althea H. Coetzee to be Deputy Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Coetzee’s confirmation passed the full Senate by unanimous consent.

“I am pleased that Admiral Coetzee’s nomination has passed the full Senate,” said Senator Risch. “From her time serving our nation as a member of the U.S. Navy in a series of management positions, to her tenure at the Department of Defense, and later as a small business owner herself, Admiral Coetzee is an exemplary public servant and has the experience needed to help manage the Small Business Administration. I believe she will be a great addition to the SBA and I know that Administrator McMahon is very much looking forward to having her leadership and support at the agency.”
