Celebrating the Resilience and Achievements of Small Businesses and Entrepreneurs in Every Community of the United States

WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, the U.S. Senate passed a resolution from the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Ranking Member Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) and Chairman Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD), recognizing September 13, 2021 as “National Small Business Week.”

“Small Businesses across the country represent how hard work, ingenuity, and discipline can turn a dream into reality,” said Dr. Paul. “This National Small Business Week, we are reminded of the work ethic and commitment that was displayed by the nearly 30 million American small businesses. Small firms were disproportionately hit hard by government lockdowns causing unnecessary economic hardships and cost taxpayers billions of dollars towards an already crippling national debt. I applaud the resilience and achievements of all small business owners and their employees for their continued contributions to our economy and communities.”

Joining Dr. Paul and Sen. Cardin were Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Roy Blunt (R-MO), John Boozman (R-AR), Mike Braun (R-IN), Maria Cantwell (D-WA), Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), Tom Carper (D-DE), Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Susan Collins (R-ME), Chris Coons (D-DE), John Cornyn (R-TX), Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV), Mike Crapo (R- ID), Steve Daines (R-MT), Dick Durbin (D-Il), Joni Ernst (R-IA), Deb Fischer (R-NE), Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Josh Hawley (R-MO), John Hickenlooper (D-CO), Mazie Hirono (D-HI), John Hoeven (R-ND), Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS), Jim Inhofe (R-OK), John Kennedy (R-LA), Angus King (D-ME), James Lankford (R-OK), Ben Lujan (D-NM), Ed Markey (D-MA), Roger Marshall (R-KS), Jeff Merkley (D-OR), Gary Peters (D-MI), Jack Reed (D-RI), Rick Scott (R-FL), Jim Risch (R-ID), Mitt Romney (R-UT), Jacky Rosen (D-NV), Marco Rubio (R-FL), Tina Smith (D-MN), Thom Tillis (R-NC), Raphael Warnock (D-GA), Roger Wicker (R-MS), and Todd Young (R-IN).
