United States Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship Chair Mary Landrieu, D-La., today made the following comment on Small Business Administration (SBA) Administrator Karen G. Mills appointment of Esther Vasser to be the National Ombudsman and assistant administrator for Regulatory Enforcement Fairness for the agency:
“When federal rules unintentionally become barriers to the success of small firms, the ombudsman is there to bridge the gap. With her strong public service background as the head of a state regulatory agency and her experience as a small business owner, Esther is exactly what we need to fill this role. I believe her leadership will lead to better coordination among federal agencies and small businesses. I look forward to working with her to achieve this goal.”
