U.S. Sen. David Vitter, Chairman of the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Committee, today made the following statement recognizing the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program Road Tour, which stopped at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La.
“The SBIR Road Tour is a great way to empower and enable small businesses to unleash the next generation of innovative technology and scientific breakthroughs,” said Vitter. “Given the track record small businesses have in bringing research and development (R&D) results to market in the form of new products, I am pleased to see our state’s resources come together to build a stronger economic future with help from Louisiana’s most innovative firms.”
The SBIR program expands the role of small businesses in federal research and development (R&D). The Small Business Committee has jurisdiction over the SBIR program.
