Washington, D.C. United States Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship Ranking Member Olympia J. Snowe (R-Maine) today issued the following statement regarding President Obama’s nomination of Marie Collins Johns to be Deputy Administrator of the Small Business Administration (SBA):

“As we continue our efforts to bolster assistance to America’s small businesses – the true job generators that will lead us out of this economic recession – we must have a knowledgeable and experienced ally in position of Deputy Administrator.  The Deputy Administrator can and must play a critical role in advocating for the best interests of our nation’s innovative entrepreneurs and small business owners.  I thank the President for making this nomination, and I look forward to meeting with Ms. Johns and reviewing her qualifications.”
