WASHINGTON – United States Senator Mary L. Landrieu, D-La., Chair of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, yesterday spoke with Fox Business anchor Gerri Willis of “The Willis Report” about the state of small business. Specifically, Senator Landrieu defended the Small Business Lending Fund in the Small Business Jobs Creation Act that the Senate is currently debating. Senators Landrieu and George LeMieux, R-Fla., introduced an amendment to the Small Business Jobs Creation Act that restored the $30 billion lending facility. The amendment passed the Senate by a vote of 60-39.

Despite a Republican filibuster and repeated attempts to stall legislation aimed at supporting small businesses, Senator Landrieu has continued her fight to give businesses greater access to capital to hire workers and grow their business. She called on her colleagues in the Senate, Republicans and Democrats, to put aside partisan rhetoric and deliver help to America’s 27 million small businesses.
