Today, U.S. Senator David Vitter (R-La.), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship (SBC), announced Kelly Plumbing of Monroe, La. as Small Business of the Week, and will be submitting it into the official Congressional Record.

“Louisianians understand full well the benefits of owning a successful family business and the hard work it takes to maintain one,” said Vitter. “For 88 years, the Kelly family has provided exceptional plumbing and home repair services to members of their community, building a successful business that provides hands-on skills training to countless family members and folks in their community. Congratulations to the Kelly family and Kelly’s Plumbing for being selected Small Business of the Week. Thank you for your commitment to providing your community with quality work and expert skills, and I look forward to your continued growth and success.”

In 1928, Ernest and Vivian Kelly founded Kelly Plumbing with the goal of providing exceptional plumbing services with the highest level of customer service. After serving their country during World War II, Ernest Kenny, Jr. and Bob Kelly, Sr. joined the Kelly Plumbing team, expanding the company’s services to include home renovations and repairs. In 1974 Bob Sr.’s son Bobby Jr. joined the family business, eventually taking over daily operations in 1994. In 2002, the Kelly Plumbing team welcomed their fourth generation Kelly to the family business, Bobby Jr.’s son Robbie, as a journeyman plumber. Today, Kelly Plumbing continues to thrive, boasting numerous second and third generation customers and garnering a 2015 Best of the Delta award for their exceptional service and support.

As SBC Chairman, Vitter continues the tradition of honoring America’s small businesses and entrepreneurs.
