U.S. Sen. David Vitter, Chairman of the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Committee, today announced ORA Estuaries of New Orleans, La. to be Small Business of the Week, and has submitted ORA Estuaries into the official Congressional record.

“Louisiana’s coast and wetlands provide some of Louisiana’s most important resources and beautiful habitats, which is why rebuilding and restoring them is crucial to protecting coastal communities and our economy,” said Vitter. “ORA Estuaries has created an innovative way to play a significant role to fight coastal erosion using one of Louisianians’ favorite delicacies - oysters.”

ORA Estuaries, most recently the winner of the New Orleans Entrepreneurial Week’s “Big Idea Pitch,” is focused on rebuilding and revitalizing coastal regions using the OysterBreak system, which allows for oyster growth to create a living coastal reef.

As Chairman of the Small Business Committee, Vitter is continuing the tradition of honoring local small businesses each week.
