WASHINGTON - United States Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship Chair Mary Landrieu, D-La., today announced two additions to her committee team.

Edward Mills joins the Committee team as Senior Policy Advisor for Banking and Finance. In his new role, Ed will handle a variety of issues, including the 7a and 504 loan programs as well as issues related to access to capital for small businesses. Prior to joining the Small Business Committee, Ed worked in the U.S. House of Representatives as Policy Advisor for Financial Services Issues to Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney of New York, as a Professional Staff for the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit, and for Congressman John Tierney of Massachusetts. Ed is a graduate of Boston College and a native of Hull, MA.

Caroline Bruckner will serve as Counsel for tax, finance and labor. Prior to her current position, Caroline was a Senior Associate in the international tax group of Pricewaterhouse Coopers, LLP - Washington National Tax Services (PwC-WNTS), where she advised clients on both inbound and outbound U.S. taxation issues generally, international contract manufacturing arrangements, corporate inversion transactions, and IRS filing requirements related to ownership of U.S. real estate, foreign corporations and offshore bank accounts. She also served as an associate for Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, LLP. Caroline earned a Master of Tax Laws (LLM) from the Georgetown University Law Center, a Juris Doctor from George Mason University School of Law, and is a graduate of Emory University with a B.A. in Political Science.

"Edward and Caroline bring a wealth of knowledge to our committee team," Senator Landrieu said. "Their expertise in banking, finance and tax law could not come at a better time. Increasing access to capital, expanding finance opportunities and ensuring that taxes on small businesses are not raised remain at the forefront of my agenda on this committee. I look forward to working closely with them on the behalf of small businesses across the country."
