U.S. Sen. David Vitter (R-La.), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship (SBC), today announced Patton’s Western Wear, LLC of Ruston, La. as Small Business of the Week, and will be submitting it into the official Congressional Record.
“In addition to their economic contributions, small businesses play a large role in supporting their local communities and traditions, including annual charities and festivals,” said Vitter. “The Patton brothers have built an impressive retail group from very humble beginnings, and in the years since, have made a point to support local artists, organizations, and rodeo men and women. Congratulations again to the Patton brothers for being selected as Small Business of the Week, and I look forward to your continued growth and success.”
In 2007, a group of brothers from Epps, La. opened a small store in Ruston catering to the western and oilfield communities of North Central Louisiana. Quickly gaining success as a staple for quality products and service, the brothers expanded, opening a second western-style store in Lake Charles and an outdoors store in Ruston catering to the college-aged community at the nearby Louisiana Tech University. Staying true to their western roots, the group remains active in the rodeo community, supporting over 100 individual rodeos each year and sponsoring a bull rider in the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Nevada. Recognized as a “Best of the Delta” business, the group now operates four locations throughout the state, including their newest location in Shreveport, which opened in June.
Earlier this month, Vitter and SBC Ranking Member Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) led a group of 35 bipartisan Senators in passing a Senate Resolution designating Saturday, November 28, 2015 as Small Business Saturday. Click here to read more.
As SBC Chairman, Vitter continues the tradition of honoring America’s small businesses.
