Today, U.S. Sen. David Vitter (R-La.), Chairman of the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee, announced Judge Porter House Bed and Breakfast of Natchitoches, La. as Small Business of the Week, and will be submitting it into the official Congressional Record.
“Louisiana is home to some of the richest and oldest traditions in the nation, and Judge Porter House Bed and Breakfast aptly captures the charm of Natchitoches over one century ago,” said Vitter. “Congratulations to our Small Business of the Week - Judge Porter House Bed and Breakfast.”
Nestled in the Cane River National Heritage Area, the Judge Porter House Bed and Breakfast was built in 1912 as the home of “Judge” Thomas Fitzgerald Porter and his wife Wilhemina. Over the decades, the home has been passed down to various families who contributed to the effort of restoring the property to its original state. The Judge Porter House Bed and Breakfast held a grand reopening in 1996 as part of the Natchitoches Historic Foundation’s Annual Fall Pilgrimage.
As Chairman of the Small Business Committee, Vitter is continuing the tradition of honoring America’s small businesses.
