Today, U.S. Senator David Vitter (R-La.), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship (SBC), announced Pontchartrain Partners, LLC of New Orleans, La. as the Small Business of the Week, and will be submitting it into the official Congressional Record.
“No one knows recovery and rebuilding after a natural disaster better than Louisianians, and one of our greatest characteristics is coming together to help our neighbors and communities rebuild,” said Vitter. “Tim Jarquin and Danny Blanks founded Pontchartrain Partners to focus on long-term rebuilding of New Orleans’ flood protection systems and play an important role in preparing Louisiana communities for the next large storm. I would like to congratulate Pontchartrain Partners, LLC for being selected as the Small Business of the Week, and express my appreciation for their valuable contributions to our state’s infrastructure, our safety, and our economy.”
In 2009, Tim Jarquin and Danny Blanks founded Pontchartrain Partners, LLC in New Orleans, La. As service disabled veterans, Jarquin and Blanks focused on long-term rebuilding of the New Orleans flood protection system. In the years after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Pontchartrain Partners have played a major role in updating and improving the infrastructure in the greater New Orleans area and surrounding parishes to increase protections from natural disasters. Today, Pontchartrain Partners boasts several state and national recognitions for their work, including being named the Veteran Small Business Champion by the Louisiana Economic Development and the U.S. Small Business Administration.
As Chairman of the SBC, Senator Vitter continues to honor the work and contributions of the small businesses and entrepreneurs.
