Washington, D.C. - The Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship today honored Webco Industries from Sand Springs, Oklahoma as the Entrepreneur of the Day for National Small Business Week. This business, which was nominated by U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK), will be recognized in the Congressional Record of the U.S. Senate.
“Local businesses play an integral role in Oklahoma’s economy. In fact, over 52 percent of all employees in Oklahoma work for local businesses and 84 percent of all exports from Oklahoma are products of local business as well,” Senator Inhofe said. “This year as part of Small Business and Entrepreneurship Week I am honored to recognize Webco Industries, one of more than 345,000 local businesses in Oklahoma. For over 49 years, Webco has proven themselves as a leader in the metal tubing industry. Their philosophy of ‘continuously building’ is a testament to how they have grown since 1969 in to the over 1,000-employee company they are today. With seven manufacturing plants and two distribution facilities, they provide the widest variety of tubing in North America. Local businesses are the backbone of America and I am very proud to have an exceptional examples of entrepreneurship in Oklahoma.”
