After John Kerry called on Governor Romney and the Small Business Administration to declare the Red Tide crisis an economic disaster one week ago today, the SBA made the declaration.
“Shellfishermen and their families are suffering through this crisis and now that SBA has declared the Red Tide Crisis an economic disaster, we need to get relief to them as soon as possible.” Senator Kerry said.
Senator Kerry and the Massachusetts delegation have also asked SBA to provide briefings for shellfishermen hit by the crisis.
“We need to go beyond a call in number and provide face to face meetings for shellfishermen struggling through this difficult time so they know how to take advantage of all the resources SBA has available,” John Kerry said.
