Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, named Fresco Foods, Inc. of Tampa, FL as the U.S. Senate Small Business of the Week.

Rubio released the following video message to congratulate Fresco Foods as the Senate Small Business of the Week. A broadcast quality version can be found here.

“Hello, I’m Senator Marco Rubio, I’m the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship.

“And today, it’s my honor to recognize Fresco Foods of Tampa, Florida as the Senate Small Business of the Week.

“Rob Povolny worked with his wife Tracy to start Fresco Foods in 2014.

“And Today, this family-owned small business provides healthy prepackaged meals.

“Notably, Fresco Foods partners with Publix grocery stores to sell their meals.

“Like many Florida small businesses, Fresco Foods stepped up to support its community when it was impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

“Despite the challenges Rob and Tracy faced, they made it a priority to donate hundreds of meals to homeless and domestic violence shelters in the Tampa Bay area.

“Fresco was approved for a PPP [Paycheck Protection Program] Loan, a small business relief program that I was proud to have authored.

“And as a result, they were able to keep all 120 of their employees paid.

“So congratulations to the entire team at Fresco Foods for being named the Senate Small Business of the Week!

“I look forward to seeing your continued success and your community involvement in the years ahead.”
